Over the years, my definitions of happiness and success have certainly changed. Some things that used to be important… no longer hold the same relevance or significance to me as it once did. Certainly then, I’d like to think I’ve matured over the years. And now, I’m inspired more and more to be a giver… because, “GOD loves a cheerful giver.”
Throughout my life – especially over the past 10 years – I’ve tried to be as intentional as I possibly could to be better at being me, and also at helping other people to be better. Seriously! I’ve spent some of my most memorable moments in life, celebrating the successes of others. I helped in other people’s success without worrying about money and without thinking about “Me”… even while becoming exhausted in the process – and I found joy in doing so. I was able to do that because I understood, whatever gifts I have, if I use them to help other people… in turn, those same gifts will make room for me to accomplish my dreams.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” ~ Luke 6:38 (KJV)
Here are 7 important things I’ve learned… that have changed my life. I’ve learned that:
GOD responds to FAITH.
Faith in GOD… is all about ACTION.
Life is a journey of great actions – for others first, then for self.
Life is made up of DOING, and not waiting on things to be done.
Life is about being in place, being available and being accountable.
Life is about loving… and being able to give… to others.
Giving is the key to happiness.
There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something. I’ve found that the most memorable events in my life happened because I decided to honor someone’s request for help to achieve something that was a big deal to them… at the same time while trying to find my way to achievement of my own dreams.
What about you? There’s a reason you’re here… right now… right where you are, in this moment in time. You may not be able to see it now… but you have a PURPOSE. And, it’s up to you, not to spend your most valuable time worrying about all that has happened to you… but to spend time rejoicing over what can happen for you and inside you… when you use the gifts GOD has placed in your possession… to directly help others without the thought of money, until the time that those gifts of giving begin to be returned to you in other ways.
