How To Find A Balance Between Pain and Possibility…..

I don’t know your story. However, I do know that there are millions of people just like you all across the world, who come from a past of: Mental/verbal or physical abuse, sexual abuse…

Be free! Don’t allow the story or the past events of your life to define your future. Sure, acknowledge the pain… because after all, it did happen. But don’t dwell on it in such a way that it stops you from being happy now – and in the future. And don’t let the pain define you. It’s time to look beyond the pain… and see your possibilities. Because your story is not yet finished!

Take some time. Notice your thoughts. Pay more attention to how you react when you think about your past. If you can, somehow, learn to focus your attention on the now rather than on the past, you can change your life today. There’s always something about you… that you’ll want to change. But to be happy, it’s important that you become happy with who you see when you look into the mirror.

I don’t know your story. However, I do know that there are millions of people just like you all across the world, who come from a past of: Mental/verbal or physical abuse, sexual abuse and dealing with alcoholism – through parents or loved ones. Others are dealing with issues like: The death of a loved one, an emotional breakup, a job loss or family infighting. And it’s natural to feel hurt. Still, to find a balance between your pain and your possibilities, you have to:

  • Accept yourself… and know you’re just as good as anyone else.
  • Avoid getting stuck in one place… or losing yourself.
  • Recognize your good traits… and build on them.
  • Focus on GOD… He can help you work through the difficulties.
  • Accept your flaws… and appreciate the good things about life.

… And come to see those flaws as actually good and unique parts of who you are – so you can learn to work through them – and find possibilities to grow from them and above them.

Remember that, if you get hurt, belittled, insulted, offended, etc., it’s not always your fault. If that’s what you’re thinking, it’s just not true. Believing that, suggests that no one on earth will ever love, bond with or trust you. In fact, that’s even further from the truth. And, that kind of thought process can give you a negative self-image of yourself.

But that’s what happens. Many people just don’t believe they can achieve their goals – because they have a negative self-image, and that negativity will stop them from achieving any kind of success every time. But Faith – not positive thinking – is the key to achievement. And by… through… and with faith – all things are possible.

Life Is Not A Race. It’s A Journey. Enjoy The Moment…

Slow down. Calm down… and don’t worry about the hurry. Don’t allow it to control you. You don’t have to rush through life. Take a break from the ‘hustle and bustle’… and be present. Find happiness now, in this moment, instead of waiting for it. Take a moment for yourself. Be still…. just for a moment. Listen to the world around you. Listen to your thoughts. Explore the details of your surroundings. Take an opportunity to be at peace with being still.

In our modern world, activity and movement are the “default modes,” if not with our bodies then at least with our minds, and with our attention. We rush around all day, doing things…, talking, emailing, sending and reading messages, clicking from browser tab to the next, one link to the next. Continue reading “Life Is Not A Race. How to Be Happy…. “Real Talk”

Many people feel as if there is something missing from their lives, and despite having everything they need, they aren’t happy, aren’t content, and cannot find satisfaction.

It’s simple. Wake up Every day in Expectation of GREAT THINGS! Happiness is a personal decision. In the best of circumstances, or in the worst of circumstances, you have to be accountable to yourself for your own happiness.

Things… are great. But things – an incredible house with a swimming pool, a wonderful spouse or significant other, beautiful children, a great life of leisure activity – do not equate to a happy life. Actually, there are times when those things can cause more headache and heartache, than happiness.

Many people feel as if there is something missing from their lives, and despite having everything they need, they aren’t happy, aren’t content, and cannot find satisfaction.

I’ve been through stages in my life like this, and I’ve also climbed out of such ruts more than once. I know it isn’t easy, but I also know that it’s possible. Looking back on these times in my life, when I overcame discontentment, I’ve realized there are three things you can do:

1. Change your attitude and perspective.

This is huge. I can’t overstate the importance of how you look at things. And I know, the power of positive thinking is a cliché in the self-help world, but that’s because it works. And, by changing your attitude, you can become happy, almost immediately. Yet, it’s a choice.

2. Take some kind of positive action.

It doesn’t matter what the action is, as long as you’re doing something positive. Start small — just take a tiny little baby step. But start.

And you know what? Taking that little baby step will feel like a victory. Then take that feeling of success and use it to take another tiny baby step. And another. And then, yet another. And so on, until you look back and you’ve actually taken a series of baby steps that add up to a whole great amount of traveling. It’s amazing how the power of little positive steps can add up over time.

3. Do something that gives you meaning.

Often we feel dissatisfied with life because while we might have a good life — at least, all the comfort and leisure we need — we might not be doing anything that feels worthwhile. It might feel meaningless. The cure: find meaning, do something meaningful.

Spend time with loved ones. Volunteer. Create something meaningful. Do something to make the lives of others better.

And you can do one of these things or all three, all at once, one at a time, or in whatever combination that best works for you. They can work alone, or together. The whole idea is to…. Just do it!

You Are An “Unrepeatable” Miracle!

You are blessed. No kidding! GOD takes your life and your future seriously. So, remind yourself every day you get out of bed – for the rest of your life – that you are “Fearfully and wonderfully made”… in the image of GOD.

DREAM… One Step at a Time

To make sure that you will reach your goal no matter how long it takes, there are certain steps you have to take. The first thing that you have to fully understand… is where you are going. You have to define that goal very clearly. What is it that you really want to achieve?

To help you in setting your goals, it will be best if you fully understand your strengths and weaknesses, and know what your limitations are. You must not be too hard on yourself by wanting something that you don’t have the capacity to attain.

Give yourself credit for trying.

Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.

Show up. Results don’t matter as much as effort.

Never be ashamed of your early work. It’s proof you showed up.

Aspire to be better–but don’t let perfectionism make you quit.

Practice. Until it hurts.

You Have Every Reason To Smile

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.” ~ Author: Unknown

woman-smiling (550x367)

Enjoy your day! Smile… to show the world that you are happy with life, and that you are happy being you. If you have been feeling down lately, cheer yourself up with a smile. Remind yourself that you are a child of GOD. And because you are royalty – a child of the KING – you can be reassured that GOD will always take care of His own.

So, enjoy your day. Celebrate life. When you know how much GOD cares for you… you have every reason to smile. EVERYTHING you need will come to you in GOD’s time. Therefore, “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and HE shall strengthen thine heart…” ~ Psalm 27:14.

Trust GOD’s ability. Patience is power! It defines you… and it proves how much faith you have in GOD.

TODAY, whatever you want… don’t chase it or run after it. There’s no need to do so. If GOD intends for you to have something… it’s already destined that HE will give it to you. No worries. In all things… BE PATIENT!

Be patient with GOD

Be patient with yourself

Be patient with other people

Be patient with life

Be patient with your situation

Remember that, 1. PATIENCE leads to faith. 2. FAITH leads to GOD. 3. GOD leads to RESULTS. And… 4. GOD’s RESULTS lead to HAPPINESS. It might take months… weeks… or even days, but whatever is meant for you, GOD will make a way for it to find its way to you. All HE requires you to do is trust HIS process.

GOD Has A Plan With You In Mind

Look forward to today. And tomorrow… and the next day. Enjoy this amazing life journey that you are on. Find your smile.  Stay connected to GOD… and stay in His will. GOD has BIG plans for you. And, He is ready to take you places… and create some miraculous, new avenues for your life. So go ahead… get excited about it.

Stay with GOD’s plan for your life, according to what is written in His word for your direction. Plan your life around it. Don’ lose hope.

Let the first entry in your mental life journal each day… read like this, “Seek GOD first.” Because that’s the plan GOD has had for you since the day you were born – that you would choose Him.

Other things might impress your eyes…

Some things might appeal to your senses…

Many things might move you emotionally…

But, a relationship with GOD should be the first order of business in your life. It will help you to see, clearer, the path GOD wants you to take… in order for you to get where He wants you to go. That is was GOD’s Divine Plan is all about. Everything else:

Your dreams

Your desires

Your family and friends

Your relationships

Your profession…

… All of these things are necessary in life. Yet, they are all secondary to GOD’s will for you. Therefore, everything about you should center on GOD.

Today, look at your life only from an objective point of view. Use real-world thoughts.. Think in real-time. Forget about what should be, and plant your feet solidly on what is. Be spiritually-minded…. and be spiritually reminded that “GOD is able to do above all you can ask or think.” Build on that. Be happy where you are, and know that from here, GOD is taking you to better places. It’s all a part of a well-designed plan.

7 Things You Can Do To Make Christmas Better For Someone Else

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS! Thank you for the sacrifice… for making the world a better place… and for bringing ‘purpose’ to the world. During this season of LOVE and GIVING of gifts, I hope you will take the time to reflect on the goodness of GOD, and think about what it means to you. Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as it is about opening our hearts.

Gift (550x309)

GOD created us to love and help others. However, the direction of our society has caused people to lean more towards selfishness rather than giving, on helping ourselves rather than helping our brothers and sisters in humanity.

I’m not saying we are all like that, but it can happen, if we’re not careful. Too often, the trend in society nowadays is for people to separate from either other.

Cars have taken us off the streets, where we used to greet each other and stop to chat.

Office cubicles have taken away a bit of the humanity in working

Television has planted us firmly in our living rooms, instead of out with other people.

Movie theaters, where many people get together, cut us off from true conversation because we’re staring at a big screen.

All the above-mentioned things are great in many ways, but we have to consciously guard against the tendency of individuality…, which causes us to focus more on ourselves, and exclude our fellow human beings.

Certainly, it’s not the “Presents” that make Christmas so special, it’s the “PRESENCE” of those you love, whether they are with you in person, or spirit… and the “PRESENCE” of GOD. Christmas should never be just about giving presents.

GOD created the best gifts. Yet, it is up to each of us to personalize those gifts and find the best way to use them to be a blessing to others.

Here are 7 things you can do to make the Christmas better for others.

  1. Show love
  2. Practice forgiveness
  3. Be Kind
  4. Show compassion
  5. Be a shoulder for someone to lean on
  6. Helping others bear a burden that’s too heavy
  7. Be a friend to the friendless…

The challenge to present GOD to others is one that lasts throughout the 365 days of each year. And, when all of us can step up to the plate and meet this challenge… it will be very pleasing to GOD, and it will give Him the best birthday present, ever. MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” ~ Luke 2:14 (KJV)

Why You Should Know The Facts, Before You Assume Anything

Before you assume, learn the facts

Before you judge, understand why

Before you hurt someone, feel

Before you speak, think…”

You’ve probably had the experience, where you have assumed something about someone, but later found out something entirely different… after you did a little digging of your own. It happens…and it happens to everyone. Continue reading “Why You Should Know The Facts, Before You Assume Anything”

Appreciate You, The Way GOD Made You

Be happy with who you are, and never waste time fretting over who you think you should be. GOD could have made you another way, but He didn’t. So what that means is, there must be a particular plan He had in mind when He created you, the way you are.

If you are like me, you’ve been through certain phases in your life when you questioned GOD…, searching for answers to your problems. Then you probably realized, everything about your life – problems and all – leads back to trusting GOD. At one point, I didn’t understand life.
