When Life Doesn’t Go Your Way… Don’t Settle For Less

There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” ~ Nelson Mandela

In reality, life should not be a journey to the grave. It should be lived on purpose with the intent for it to be an exciting adventure.

Each day, it is important to remember that, life has put you in the driver’s seat … and you can travel in any direction you choose. But, being better… having better… and living better, will require strategic moves – in the right direction.

There’s an ever-present underlying feeling that most of us have that we could be doing things better. That we’re not sure how to live life. That we’re doing things wrong. That everyone else is better.

Don’t allow those types of thoughts to cause you to over-compensate, and do too much… by forcing things to happen for you too quickly. Be good at what you do… and give better things time to happen.

Try to improve your life… but don’t feel bad when things don’t change as rapidly as you expect them to. Also, never seek comfort in anything that will cause you to be distracted from what you know your true purpose to be.

Take a moment, sometimes, and pause where you are. Soak in the current state of the room where you are. Stay in tune with your own state of mind. Just notice what it feels like to be alive… and to have life.

Now see how this moment is enough. Just as it is. Without any need for improvement. It is a wonder, and there’s no need for more. Yet when there is a need for more, if you are doing all of the little things well that are right in front of you every day… then more will happen.

Remember this simple fact: When you have done all you can to do all you can, pray about it. Prayer changes things. Put the things in GOD’s hand that seem out of reach for you. Allow GOD to change those things in His own time for you, and you will come to realize that your life will turn out to be absolutely wonderful.

Dare to Be Different. That’s The Best Part of Life…

It’s okay to be unique. GOD did not create you to be a copycat, or to be a carbon copy of someone else. You will find that with a little creativity, and a lot of faith, any difference can be turned into something amazing. Your difference is your power.

The normal way of doing things is often not the only way, nor the best way.

Ever been stuck in a rut of doing things a certain way, because that’s the way everyone else does things, or because that’s how it’s always been done? Because it’s safe. Continue reading Dare to Be Different. That’s The Best Part of Life…

Fear Is Harmless… Unless You Give It the Energy to Harm You

Even when you do… fear doesn’t sleep. It’s all around you. It’s never satisfied unless it has your attention. Whenever fear can’t get your attention while you are awake, it will do its best to insert itself into your midnight thoughts – even your dreams – if you allow it.

Fearful boy (550x331)

Fear affects our lives in unseen ways, causing worry, hesitation, confusion, anxiety and avoidance. It can bring you to your knees… even cripple your lifestyle and your peace – if you allow it.

Truth is… fears control us in ways we never realize, unacknowledged and more powerful because of their unknown workings.

Fear can stop your dreams.

Fear can stop you from taking risks.

Fear can stop you from pursuing love.

Fear can stop you from seeking adventure.

Fear can stop you from speaking in public.

Fear can stop you from starting a new venture, etc….

It can cause you discomfort. It can cause you to procrastinate, overeat, and be distracted with worry. Continue reading Fear Is Harmless… Unless You Give It the Energy to Harm You

When You Make The Decision To Change… You Have To Make Time Too

It’s up to you to make a commitment to change. It’s a big decision, and the decision is all yours. When and how… is your choice too. But, what if you had to make a list of all the habits you would like to change or create, how many changes would be on the list? Would you actually make the changes? Could you actually make the changes?

For many of us, we might have more than a dozen habit changes we’d like to make. And we want to make them all right now! However, you might find it helpful to know that, changes have to be thought of as being similar to a marathon, not a sprint. LOVE Always Protects, Trusts, Hopes, and Perseveres…

Life is short! We all have a limited time to live a remarkable life. Some people live for seconds, days, years, decades — but nobody is here forever. That’s why; we have to take the time to give the best we have to offer to all of our relationships. Love always goes the extra mile.

People change! It’s a fact we have to live with every single day of our lives. Changes in life outside our relationships with family, friends, significant others, and co-workers… will impact what we want and need from our relationships with each person in every facet of our lives. Since change is inevitable, welcoming it as an opportunity to enhance our relationships is more fruitful than trying to keep it from happening.

No matter where we are in life, everything that involves building better connections with the people in our lives will take a great deal of love, patience and understanding. There’s no room for blame; but only room for total consideration of others and where they are in life. Continue reading LOVE Always Protects, Trusts, Hopes, and Perseveres…

Life Really is What You Make it…

A man that has friends must show himself friendly…” ~ Proverbs 18:24

Climber creates his own life adventure.

How’s your social life? Are you optimistic and open to meeting new people? Or, are you happy living inside your own little box… in your own world where you’re comfortable?

Sometimes, to enjoy your life… you have to “Change Your Point of View.” You have to change your whole perspective of things and allow space for others to enter into your world…in order to have a well-rounded social life. Continue reading Life Really is What You Make it…

Life Is Not Always Perfect. Still, Enjoy The Journey.

“We are all individuals taking different journeys and along our journey, we sometimes bump into each other, we cross paths, we become altered… we take different physical forms. But at all times we too are 100% perfectly imperfect.” ― Steve Maraboli

It’s sometimes hard for us to admit we’re just human… and not in charge of everything. It’s even harder for us not to know everything. Yet, we must somehow learn to become comfortable with our reality… learn to live with our limitations, and find happiness in striving to be better. Continue reading Life Is Not Always Perfect. How To Transform Your Life Through Prayer… and Faith

When you pray… and pray… and pray, and it seems like nothing is happening, you have to know GOD is still with you. That’s faith! But, it helps more when you understand… GOD does not operate on a time-table – but on faith.

impossible (550x366)

The problem is never GOD. In many cases, then, it comes down to your personal faith… and patience. Saying, “I have faith,” and actually having faith, are two opposite things. Therefore, you should never allow true faith to be overshadowed by a confession of faith that’s filled with an arsenal of charismatic clichés.

Faith is more than positive thinking. Faith is a mindset… and a way of life. So, faith cannot be tricked into being. It has to be lived – daily. Confession of faith must be the Word of GOD spoken from your heart. When you believe, speak, and act on the Word, that’s faith. And that’s what GOD responds to, and nothing else.

What do you know about faith? Sure, I know you constantly hear the clichés people use… such as:

“Faith is the key.”

“You just have to believe.”

“Wait on GOD.”

“GOD responds to faith.”

“Without faith, it’s impossible to please GOD.”

“You just need to take it to the Lord.”

Those are all true. Still, how do you see faith? Daily, do you “Walk by Faith?” If so, surely you understand how faith pleases GOD. Your mindset is a powerful thing, and it has a big effect on your life. It has the ability to control you, persuade you and even hold you back from doing or achieving great things. It can be the difference between personal happiness and unhappiness.

The only way to develop a mind-set of faith is to: 1. Make good choices… 2. Learn to combat fear, and take action… and 3. Take GOD at His Word. Because no matter how positive your mindset is on any given day, you have to commit to a cause that’s much greater than who you are. Faith can’t be in your mind alone, you have to commit to faith with action and an ultimate goal in mind… to please GOD.

How to Be Happy…. “Real Talk”

It’s simple. Wake up Every day in Expectation of GREAT THINGS! Happiness is a personal decision. In the best of circumstances, or in the worst of circumstances, you have to be accountable to yourself for your own happiness.

istock_000001115184small_man_with_arms_raised

Things… are great. But things – an incredible house with a swimming pool, a wonderful spouse or significant other, beautiful children, a great life of leisure activity – do not equate to a happy life. Actually, there are times when those things can cause more headache and heartache, than happiness.

Many people feel that there is something missing from their lives, that despite having everything they need they aren’t happy, aren’t content, and cannot find satisfaction.

I’ve been through stages in my life like this, and I’ve also climbed out of such ruts more than once. I know it isn’t easy, but I also know that it’s possible. Looking back on these times in my life, when I overcame discontentment, I’ve realized there are three things you can do:

1. Change your attitude and perspective.

This is huge. I can’t overstate the importance of how you look at things. And I know, the power of positive thinking is a cliché in the self-help world, but that’s because it works. And, by changing your attitude, you can become happy, almost immediately. Yet, it’s a choice.

2. Take some kind of positive action.

It doesn’t matter what the action is, as long as you’re doing something positive. Start small — just take a tiny little baby step. But start.

And you know what? Taking that little baby step will feel like a victory. Then take that feeling of success and use it to take another tiny baby step. And another. And then, yet another. And so on, until you look back and you’ve actually taken a series of baby steps that add up to a whole great amount of traveling. It’s amazing how the power of little positive steps can add up over time.

3. Do something that gives you meaning.

Often we feel dissatisfied with life because while we might have a good life — at least, all the comfort and leisure we need — we might not be doing anything that feels worthwhile. It might feel meaningless. The cure: find meaning, do something meaningful.

Spend time with loved ones. Volunteer. Create something meaningful. Do something to make the lives of others better.

And you can do one of these things or all three, all at once, one at a time, or in whatever combination that best works for you. They can work alone, or together. The whole idea is to…. Just do it!

Life Is Good… If You Believe It Is

LIFE! If you think it’s great… it will be. If you think it’s beautiful… it will be. If you think it’s important… it will be. If you think it’s worth it… it will be. Life is whatever you want it to be. Your thoughts are important… and whatever you think life is, then, that’s exactly what it will be. Perception is everything!

Hurray we did it!

The “biggest” battle of life takes place right inside your mind! That’s no surprise to you, I’m sure. The environment we create within our mind is who we become in life. Our daily thoughts form habits, and our habits create a pattern of actions that make us who we are. Each day, our thoughts lead us to seek fulfillment of some kind to bring us peace.
