Don’t Apologize For Who You Are

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

People will judge you by what they can see… not by what they know. Is it right? Of course not! But that won’t stop them from judging you by their own perceptions. Let them think what they want to think about you. If you are doing your best to be your best…, hold your head up. Hold yourself to a higher standard than what other people do. You don’t have to judge yourself the same way they do.

To make this point plain, GOD said…, “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” ~ 1 Samuel 16:7

The people around you might not care about the music that touches you and makes you cry…, or your favorite foods. Your silly jokes won’t ever pay the bills or help you further your career. You will only be able to support yourself based on what you can give to the world externally. Still, never let that stop you from being who you are… just to be who you think people want you to be. That’s called, “Perpetrating.”

Go after what you want. Define yourself. Never allow your definition of who you are, to come from someone else.

Differentiate between other people’s opinions of you… and the facts of who you actually are as a person.

You are much more than the hair color on your head.

You are more than choice of clothing you wear.

You’re not your height, weight or job or degree of education.

You don’t have to allow yourself to be defined by your mistakes.

You don’t have to be defined by your “flaws.”

Your physical attributes are just descriptors that make you easier to identify by others, they don’t define who you are.
