“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will,He hears us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” ~ 1 John 5:14-15
Let’s face it… being human, all of us have questions about life. There are some things we love about life, some things we don’t like so much, and some things we just don’t quite understand.
Which brings me to my point… have you ever wanted GOD to tell you what to do in a situation, only to receive back total silence from Him, as an answer to your prayers? Perhaps you are in a trial at this very moment, yet you don’t understand why.
Maybe you are facing a major choice in life, and need direction. You simply want to know the will of GOD for you, so that you can obey Him, and do His will. But despite:
- All of your prayers
- All of your tears
- All of your fasting
- All of your waiting… and longing
… GOD still doesn’t answer. Why? How do you know if GOD is listening?
GOD often seems silent on many of life’s biggest occasions when we need an answer from Him. And the worst cases are when we make a decision, thinking it is the will of GOD, and then the thing turns out to be a disaster. When that happens it is so easy to think that we made the wrong decision – and worse – GOD LET US do it! He let us make the wrong decision despite the fact that we were in prayer over it, and really wanted to do His will. “How could things possibly turn out this way if GOD cares so much about me,” you ask yourself.
The best way to hear GOD – Loudly and clearly – is to keep His word (The Bible) fresh in your mind. You have to read daily.
What we have to remember is this… even when GOD doesn’t speak audibly to us to give us the answer we seek, He still speaks through His word. Here’s what His word says:
[“Seek ye first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added.” ~ Matthew 6:33].
In every circumstance of life, GOD is telling us to seek, not necessarily answers or explanations, but His purpose. And if we do, GOD promises to give us everything else we need to make it through trials and troubles.
