“I’m not concerned with tomorrow, but with what goes on today.” ~ Mark Spitz
The moment you’re ready to quit is usually the moment right before a miracle happens. Therefore, today, decide that you are going to quit. Yes! You heard it right, QUIT! No more beating around the bush or going in circles. Quit! Make up your mind that in order for you to live a fulfilled life, you have to let go of some things. What that means is, you have to Quit:
- Spending time with the wrong people.
- Running from your problems.
- Lying to yourself.
- Putting your own needs on the back burner.
- Trying to be someone you’re not.
- Trying to hold onto the past.
- Being scared to make a mistake.
- Beating yourself up for old mistakes.
- Looking for other people to make you happy.
- Complaining and feeling sorry for yourself.
- Holding grudges.
- Trying to be everything to everyone.
When you quit doing all those things, then you will be ready to start a new and more enjoyable life – to do what you love and love what you do. Happiness comes from spending time doing things that bring you joy. If you are waiting each morning for happiness to come your way you will only wake up and fall asleep miserable. Happiness must be made… and you will never find YOUR happiness anywhere but within yourself.
Don’t listen to anyone who tries to put a limit on your abilities… or who tries to tell you, you can’t do something. That’s nonsense. Make up in your own mind that you’re much better than who or what negative people make you out to be. When you set goals to be a better person, or strive to be a more successful person, not everyone will be happy with your decisions… or the direction you’re going. Don’t let it hinder you from doing what makes your happy.
Pray about everything! Then, go where you need to go, do what you need to do, and make the choices you need to make. But, be sure that all of your choices are just that… Your Choices! Know who to accept advice from… but, ponder over the advice and make it a part of your own decision-making. In the end… let every decision you make be what you know is best for your life.
