“A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken… The Lord redeems His servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him.” ~ Psalm 34:19-22
Life has a way of filling our lives with things that demand our immediate attention, which in turn, draws us away from GOD. Therefore, sometimes…, GOD has to break us, just to get the attention from us that He deserves. We don’t like it, but it is a necessary part of life. GOD does so, in order to cause us to surrender to Him… so that He can be the One to restore us – and eventually transform our lives… so we can be what He desires for us to be.
It never feels good to be broken. Broken things are considered as worthless, but GOD can take what has been broken and remake it into something better, something that He can use for His glory. Broken things and broken people are the result of sin. Yet GOD sent His Son, who was without sin, to be broken so that we might be healed. On the night before He died, Jesus broke the bread and said, “This is my body, which is broken for you.” He went all the way to Calvary to die so that we can live. His death has made it possible for broken, sinful humanity to be reconciled to GOD and be healed.
In our society, broken things are despised and thrown out. Anything we no longer need, we throw away. Damaged goods are rejected, and that includes people. In marriage, when relationships break down, the tendency is to walk away and find someone new rather than work at reconciliation. The world is full of people with:
However, to GOD, there is so much value in our brokenness. And that’s the point GOD wants you to understand. He values you. GOD thinks so much of You. You might be broken, but you are not useless. You’re valuable to GOD! So never forget to pray when you are at your lowest point. GOD loves you. But what good is His love to you… if you never turn to Him in prayer and allow Him to prove it?
GOD doesn’t expect you to have it all together when you come to Him… because He works best when you’re broken. Then when you do have it all together… you can Love and reverence Him better – with true sincerity.
Don’t depreciate your life by depending on your own abilities. PRAY! Keep GOD involved… and it will add priceless value to your life, and to your happiness. Claim the promises of GOD that cannot be broken. GOD said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33
