“You are special in your own way, you have your talents, skills, abilities and so much potential that you can share with the world. Just because something doesn’t happen for you right now, doesn’t mean it never will.” ~ Talin Orfali
Don’t make your life harder than it has to be. Stop putting yourself down and saying bad things about yourself in your thoughts. Learn to enjoy life. You will have troubles, and not everything will go your way everyday… but things always have a way of working out for your good. That’s how GOD handles things. However, you have to cooperate with His process.
Sadly, though, we live in a society that has a dogma of “If you’re not this or that…, then you’re a nobody. And so, it can be hard to stop seeking the approval of others, because it’s the environment you have to live in, and live around, every day. So, it’s true that all of us, in some way, are influenced by other people’s thoughts. They influence us, and their opinion, although we say it doesn’t matter, does matter.
People’s opinions of themselves, especially negative ones, largely stem from what they know they don’t have and can’t do, instead of basing it on genuine convictions. Couple that with pressure to always be at the “Top of your game” around family, friends or co-workers…. and you have a recipe for low self-worth and insecurity.
Children have no pretense whatsoever. Ask any child – boy or girl – what they’d like to be when they grow up, and you will get various answers on a wide range of career choices. There are some, too, who will reply with an, “I don’t know; I haven’t made up my mind” answer. For these youth, you feel a hint of fear for the direction of their future. But, what would you say… or how would you feel if you came across a man or a woman in the age range of the thirties, forties, and even fifties, who has not determined what their life’s ambition is; or what their ultimate goal is? For sure, you would be very worried about them.
“The only way you can ever really heal, or find some sense of genuine contentment, is in narrating your life as someone who loves you would. Because you should love you.” ~ Brianna Wiest
You just have to trust GOD. Your options are limited only by your fears. So, pick yourself up, think with positivity and optimism… and always know – By Faith” – life will get better. Yes, sometimes life gets tricky, sometimes you might end up doing, saying or thinking things about yourself that you’re not proud of. Still, let it go. Lighten up a little, don’t insult yourself and tell yourself you are not good enough, that you are not all that, because you are all that. You don’t need to try so hard to impress others. Just be yourself, and don’t ever succumb into negative feelings. I know sometimes you cannot help being sad. Sadness is a part of life, but don’t let it overpower you.
