7 Ways To Overcome Negative Thinking

Do you spend Sunday night worrying about Monday morning…or any other night worrying about the next day? Why? Do you fear something will go wrong? Do you fear it will bring rejection? Do you fear you’ll be overlooked? Do you fear some other disaster…that will affect your life?

Everyone wants a happy life, and we all know that having a positive attitude feels better than a negative one. But for some reason, we are attracted to and can be easily drawn to the negative side of life. Still, you can establish a more positive attitude as a daily habit when you:

  • Are more conscious of your thoughts.
  • Recognize the beautiful lessons in life waiting to be discovered.
  • Count your blessings and miracles, and learn to be grateful.
  • Practice seeing yourself in a positive and confident light.
  • Use Self-affirmations to condition your thought process.
  • Realize what appears negative today will change tomorrow.
  • Shift your approach and attitude from fault-finding to appreciation-finding.

Even for someone like me – who thinks about and writes about positivity on an almost daily basis – having a positive attitude didn’t always come easy.

At times, I’ve seen the world through a negative perspective, simply because I focused on the bad and ignored the good — especially when things weren’t going the way I had hoped. After several years of working on my mental mindset and thought process, I learned to remind myself that life for me would only change, when I learned the habit of changing my own viewpoint.

As you struggle to be positive about certain challenging situations in your life, give some serious thought to how you want to transform your outlook from being negative-focused to a more positive-focused one. (Note: You won’t always see the good. Like everyone, you will have good days and bad days, but, for the most part, you have to find a way to make a BIG shift in your attitude… to change the climate of your life).

When your mind is filled with negative thoughts – as a consequence – you end up attracting more of what you don’t want.

So if you want to create a better life, if you want to enjoy greater success and happiness; and enjoy more of the things you want, while getting rid of the negative aspects of your life, then you may want to eliminate the negative thinking. Your thoughts have a direct impact on your life. Thoughts that you think regularly end up creating beliefs… and you begin to believe what you regularly think about.

Create positive thinking patterns, by working with positive thinking exercises… so that you attract more of what you want, and so that your subconscious mind brings you the people, situations and circumstances to help you succeed.
