Is Unconditional Love Really Necessary?

You are good enough. But trying to prove to others that you’re good enough… is not necessary. Really, it doesn’t matter… and it won’t change a thing. Some people won’t like you regardless of how good of a person you are, or how good you are to them.

And no matter what you do for them or how you try to please them… it won’t make a difference in how they feel about you. In fact, they may become even more critical of you. But, none of that’s important. What’s important and necessary, though, is that you love yourself – and everyone else – unconditionally; because unconditional love pleases GOD.

You shouldn’t worry too much about trying to get everyone – whether they are friends, family, or strangers – to like you. All you can do… and all you’re responsible to GOD for… is to:

Love everyone unconditionally.

Treat people how you want to be treated.

Don’t be the cause of discord and confusion.

Make a positive difference in other people’s lives.

These are all are necessary things that pleases GOD; which is all that matters in life. Everything else is just a distraction to take your mind off GOD.

Jesus said, “Love the Lord your GOD” with:

All your heart

All your soul

All your mind

Then, He goes on to say something that is just as important…and that is, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39

You have to do all of the above… and not just the ones that fit your preferences. You can only perform well in your life when you love GOD… love others…and also yourself. All three – GOD, others, self – are needed to function in a balanced way as a human being. It’s all a part of GOD’s master design.

Love doesn’t ask you to befriend a person – it asks you to tolerate, to think beyond your own notions of how the world should be and to accept differences without judging. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Rather than imposing your own expectations or attempting to control another person’s viewpoints or lifestyle, learn to empathize with them.

At the end of the day – Be happy with who you are… regardless of what others think. Seek to please GOD first… then, do your best to win your own approval of yourself; because you can only grow when you accept your own strengths and weaknesses – and decide to make personal changes that will make you a better person.

Once you’ve achieved all of these things… then you will have room to love everyone, without regard to how they treat you. Truth be told… then, it won’t even matter what they think.
